The initial chapter is a good way to draw in the reader and create a desire to continue reading to find out just what happens and how everything is connected. The characters are interesting enough although I found the writing to be a bit more telling than showing. It will be interesting to see how White develops with experience. I feel the historical aspect was well done and feels authentic, although I am far from an expert in this area. The overall read was enjoyable with nothing too detracting from the experience. I received an ARC through the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced my opinion.
