Fault Lines is a series in which the order of the books is a bit jumbled. Double Edge (free ebook) is the first few chapters of this book. Trial Run is listed as “Fault Lines #1” and Flash Point as “Fault Lines #2”. This book, Fault Lines, actually falls prior to Trial Run so it’s essentially a prequel. I’m not a fan of books released this way as it tends to lead to confusion. Now that that’s out of the way, the actual read was ok although I wasn’t able to get into the characters as much as I could in Trial Run. It just felt off, perhaps because of the release order. I wasn’t sold on the motives behind Gabriella’s actions and I felt a bit of disconnect with Reese. Overall, the writing is good but it wasn’t anything I’d be excited to share. I received an ARC through Revell in exchange for an honest review.
