Servalius Window by Claudia White
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was a beautiful read bound by a beautifully crafted cover. While it may seem to be a quick read, White does a great job of pulling in the reader and taking them on a great ride. The writing is solid and enjoyable. I enjoyed reading this one, even though I found out later it was the third in a series. I didn’t feel lost or like I was missing out on important information although I would recommend reading all three books. Each part of the book, while clearly separate, are well linked without losing any of the flow. Young and old readers can enjoy this book equally, and that in itself is quite a feat. My son (11) also enjoyed reading this book and sharing moments with me. It’s a special moment when you can curl up with your child and share a book you both enjoyed reading. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced my opinion.
Wow, Jenn, I think you sold me on this! I wonder how much more you would’ve gotten out of it had you read the first two. I wonder, too, with all you have to read, if you’ll try to read the first two!

I’m often in this position where I’m offered a book in a series without the previous books. Most of the time I can tell I’m missing something and it can affect the review, but only a fraction. My son wants the first two books and I may eventually get them for him. I doubt I’ll have the time to read them on my own. I have plenty of books to read and review that will keep me busy. I also have some personal books I’ve purchased on my own that I read.

I find it amazing, considering how busy you are, that you can read so much 😀

I have several hours a day with down time and nothing to do but read. I also like to read before I get started on my day, and again at night before I close my eyes. There are many nights I just can’t sleep so I pick up a book and read. Then there’s the weekends when my son has a meet… I can get through multiple books on those weekends. Without my books I’d be lost. They are as valuable as chocolate in this house.
