Archmage by R.A. Salvatore

I’ve read a few Drizzt books, but I’ve not read all of them. Even so, I found this one enjoyable without feeling as though I were missing something. I enjoyed the familiar setting and characters that felt like they belonged. For me, it felt as though there were just enough plot threads to keep things interesting without becoming a bear to keep track of. The flow was good and the writing, as is with the majority of Salvatore books I’ve read, is solid. I enjoy a good fantasy that remains true to the roots of characters and races. Overall I found this to be a solid fantasy novel that requires no knowledge of the previous books, only a fondness for the fantasy genre.
