The excerpt for this book had me hooked and interested in reading it. However, each time I attempted to curl up and read it I found it lacking any hooks to pull me in. Overall it just felt flat and without the suspense it was supposed to have. I didn’t find anything technically wrong with the writing as far as grammatical issues, it just didn’t flow or inspire interest. After making several attempts I decided to leave the book unfinished and thus a DNF. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced my opinion, which may or may not mirror your own.
