The Boy and the Bottle by Kendra Vallone Matthews
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
My son (11) and I sat down to read and review this book together. Although he pointed out that it was for much younger reading levels we still enjoyed the story together. That is how this book should be read; together with a younger reader. There are so many curiosities that can be explored in a safe and secure plot theme. Who knows what amazing things can come from a child’s mind when it is opened with imagination. We liked the simple yet colorful illustrations and the overall story. We received an ARC through the author in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced our opinion.
Well, my dear…so happy to have that kind of effect 🙂 Anything for a smile! And is it best that if someone wants to submit their book that they contact you on this page? Or email? I would want to give the info you prefer 🙂

You’re such a sweetheart, Jenn 🙂 I have no books, at least not yet, and if ever, not for a long time :-\ But I’m going to spread the word and who knows? Maybe you’ll get some KidLit! 😀

Thank you kindly. I appreciate your efforts to assist me in getting more children’s literature. What a great way to start the day; with a warm complement. I’ll be full of smiles and giggles all day!

Hmmm…are you limited as to which format? Just picture books or would you also do board books, chapter books and middle grade novels? I’m pretty sure some of the books you review are in the young adult or new adult category. KidLit is my “world,” and I would happily tell some of my published friends 🙂 I’m not even close to getting published, but I’d feel weird asking a pal to review something anyway lol

I review all formats although I prefer physical. It’s much easier plus the author gets additional exposure after the reviews since I donate the books to our library.
Yes, a lot of the books fall into the young adult category. It’s been easier to obtain that genre for reviews. I love children’s books though! My favorite genre is fantasy. Oh, and I love getting audiobooks to review but that’s a rare gem.
I can review your book without bias if you’d like, or I can have my one of my sons read it, or I can pass it to one of my bookworms. In any case it would receive a fair and unbiased review. Or, I can read it for feedback instead of a published review.

Jenn, it’s not often you review children’s books here (at least from what I can remember! lol) and it was nice to see 🙂
