Fatal Affair by Marie Force
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I was offered the chance to read this book so I took it with me on a recent trip. It’s an ok read but one I found myself skimming through just to finish it. There are a few too many coincidences, a lot of unnecessary reminders, a bit of a flimsy grasp of reality when it comes to the lead detective – although I did like that she came across as a strong lead female. The pacing started out good but then got bogged down with interviews, details and the relationship. The more I read with the lead male the less I liked him and the less I liked that she liked him. By the end of the book I was glad to have finished it but at the same time I don’t think it was that poor of an experience. I feel there will be a large following who will love the book and swear by it. This is my opinion which may not mirror your own and that’s perfectly fine.
