Breaking the SilenceBreaking the Silence by Diamante Lavendar
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Reviewed by Charlie: As memoir type books go this one is good, if you enjoy reading diary entries. Some of the entries are heart-wrenching while others kinda made me mad. I don’t know how truthful this whole thing is but even so I do know this sort of thing does happen. It’s difficult to carry the burdens associated with family abuse. My best friend never said anything and she certainly didn’t write it down where it could be found. It wasn’t until she was diagnosed with cancer that she spoke up, and even then it was just to a few select people. Anyway, if I had this book then I might have given it to her because I think it might have helped her. Perhaps that is what this author is thinking, that by speaking up and sharing that it will help someone else. When you read this keep an open mind and bring the tissues.
