The Witch of Painted Sorrows (The Daughters of La Lune, #1)The Witch of Painted Sorrows by M.J. Rose

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I found myself struggling to finish this one. Perhaps I had held the expectations too high? I feel the writing is ok, not great and not terrible, just ok. It’s readable and understandable but it moves so slow at times I nearly gave up and moved on to the next book. Some of the descriptions are wonderful and really bring parts to life while other sections seem to be missing something. I did not connect with or feel positive emotions towards any of the characters which made it even more difficult to enjoy. The plot had such promise and yet so many issues came up while reading that made it fall short. I received an e-ARC through Netgalley and Atria Books in exchange for my honest opinion.
