This book starts the series on a good path with opportunity for character and plot development. The writing is solid and has good flow. The main female character could use a bit more fleshing out as she comes across rather one dimensional for me. The main male character sounds like some popular pirates we all love but at least he is better fleshed out. The plot is solid, good ideas and premise with a good feel and plenty of historical aspects. Overall this is a good read and perfect for those who enjoy good clean romances or historical fiction. I received an ARC through the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
