Hyacinth Girls: A Novel by Lauren Frankel

The book starts out very slowly and builds very slowly to a good pace. This may deter some readers but it works and it’s slow for a reason it seems. It takes a touch of patience but then most books like this take some patience to read. I’m not a huge fan of reading this sort but I can say Frankel does a fine job bringing this story to life. I like the style and the way everything eventually bubbles up and there is nothing left to hide. The characters are relatable and authentic which adds to the enjoyment of the read.
