Blood Jungle Ballet by John Enright
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
First and foremost, this is a fourth book in a series but can be read without reading the first three. I’d still recommend starting with the first however. There are good points and not so good points with this book. The characters seem fairly well fleshed out and unique in their own rights. The writing is ok although a few times it feels as though a thesaurus was used to find a different word instead of letting the flow just happen. The plot overall is intriguing but the smaller plot threads were neglected, some to the point of vanishing altogether. The entire book moves along at a much slower pace than others of the same genre, which can be fine for some but a huge turn off for others. Overall it’s not a bad book and I would read another by this author. An ARC was provided by the publisher in exchange for my honest review. This in no way influenced my opinion which may or may not mirror your own.
