My son (10) and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. We read parts of it aloud and other parts to ourselves. He asked if I could get the next book and if we could get it for the library so he could share with his friends. I feel this book is very well written and perfectly targeted for the intended audience. Nothing feels watered down or left out. The characters, all endangered animals, are wonderfully done with a perfect narrative voice. The style is reminiscent of much older films, long before my son’s time but done so well we both enjoyed it. This book works well for hesitant readers as well. We received an e-ARC in exchange for our honest review. This in no way influenced our opinion.
