Emissary by Thomas Locke
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Don’t turn away from this one because it is published by Revell, a Christian Fiction publisher! Emissary is a fantastic fantasy well worth the read without any distracting insta-love or worse. It has every element a top fantasy needs to be a great read. The characters are very well developed and fleshed out, easy to connect with and root for. Locke handles each scene eloquently, giving a sense of forward flow even during dialogue. Just the right amount of information is provided just when it’s needed. This one is one to read if you even think you like fantasy. I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced my opinion.
Ah, see, for me, the fact that it’s published by a Christian publisher would appeal to me simply because it wouldn’t have the elements that often turn me off in a book! lol

Exactly, however some readers will avoid CF because they don’t enjoy being preached at. Either way, both types of readers can enjoy this one.

True, but the thing is, just because it’s a Christian publisher, doesn’t mean the book is preachy. It just typically means they stick to those standards 🙂
