Waiting Hearts by Beth Ann Stifflemire
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This is a fairly simplistic and familiar theme with a good foundation. The writing could use polish and editing. As is, the read feels choppy and unfinished. We like the characters enough to want to read through to find out how it all turns out. If you enjoy deep sappy stories you’ll enjoy this one if you are patient enough to read most of the book to get there. We decided this book is worth the third star even with the choppy feel because the characters feel like they have some depth and the plot strings are all tied up nicely by the end. We received an ARC in exchange for our honest review. This in no way influenced our opinion.
So glad you are kind. As an author, I agonized when anyone reviewed my books.
You made a good point. I also feel if one has great characters, then writing mistakes can be forgiven in part. Caring about the characters and unique plot twists will keep me hanging on. No matter how much I edited and re-edited, I still found mistakes after publication. I’m still a rookie writer but since one must start somewhere and hopefully I’ll get better with experience as this author will. Blessings,
