This is a fairly interesting book with a light blend of steampunk worked into the vampire tale. The writing is good with plenty of vivid descriptions that help the reader visualize the scenes. Langston does not hold back on the vampire violence, making this lean more towards the horror aspect than any sort of romantic tale. It starts out rather slow then turns a corner and takes off so don’t let the slow start turn you away. And no, these vampires do not sparkle. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced my opinion.
