Excellent clean and upfront writing with a nice editing job. This is a gem of a read even without having read the three prior installments. I did not feel lost or out of touch for starting with a fourth in a series book, which says a lot about the writing. The characters feel fleshed out and authentic with great layering and flaws. The plot is intriguing and a bit dark, pulling the reader along page after page. I enjoyed reading this novel and expect to add this author to a must read list.
