I love animals and books with animals. I love books like “All Creatures Great and Small” so I suppose I expected more from this book than what it is. The dialogue does not feel like it fits with the characters, especially the supposed Veterinarian. The writing itself is ok. There are minor issues with the plot and flow which further detracted from my enjoy enjoyment. I would agree that there is potential for something enjoyable perhaps in future novels by this author so I wouldn’t write him off yet. I received an evaluation copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion which may not mirror your own.
