Firstly, it’s very long. Be prepared to spend quite a while reading, but also be prepared to enjoy reading this one. Very well written, nicely fleshed out characters, intricate plot with a great flow, and detailed scenes that are not overdone. Gwynne’s world building skills are well honed and he clearly understands old school fantasy, swordplay, and how to bring his world to life in a way that keeps you interested and provides hours of enjoyment. Don’t let the length dissuade you from reading this one. Well worth the read for all fantasy fans.
