I was able to read the first book in this series thanks to the generosity of the author. I expected book two to pick up where book one left off but instead we get the alternate point of view through the majority of the book. This makes book two able to stand alone or even be read first. I enjoyed The Waves a lot more as it was much better written and the characters felt more fleshed out. The story is more thought through and the pace works out well. While there is faith mentioned by the characters it’s not overdone or preachy. Overall it’s an easy read and enjoyable. I would expect the next works by this author to be even better as she grows from this experience.
I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
